Passports

U.S. citizens do not need passports or visas to enter Canada, but proof of citizenship and residence must be carried.

Visitors from other countries must be in possession of a valid national passport or other recognized travel document.

Bringing Firearms Into Canada

Revolvers, pistols, fully automatic firearms, and other weapons and self-defense sprays are prohibited entry into Canada. All firearms (hunting rifles, shotguns) must be declared. For more info phone the Canadian Firearms Centre inquiry line: Phone (604) 717-2716

Bringing Pets Into Canada

Dogs and cats from the US more than 3 months of age must be accompanied by a certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian of Canada or the US certifying that the animal has been vaccinated against rabies during the preceding 36 months.

Tax Credit

Visitors to British Columbia are eligible for a rebate of the Goods and Service Tax (GST) they pay while visiting.
