Or move inland and choose your lake for a windsurfing adventure. Tatlayoko Lake in the Chilcotin is well known in windsurfing circles as consistent afternoon thermal winds create excellent conditions.  Tatlayoko means “lake of the big winds” in the native Tsilhqot’in language. Chilko Lake is also another well known lake for high winds in the afternoon. Lac La Hache is renowned for water sports and many people enjoy sailing, windsurfing and water skiing on this picturesque lake that is located south of Williams Lake.
