Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater at its best

The Chilko, Chilcotin and Fraser Rivers are well-known British Columbia rafting destinations and offer some of the best whitewater in the province.

The ride can range from smooth flatwater to roller coaster wild whitewater, and the scenery is magnificent—hoodoos, sagebrush and desert-like landscapes. You’ll see plenty of wildlife from eagles to bighorn sheep and possibly bear.

Chilko-Chilcotin-Fraser

Your excursion on the Chilko-Chilcotin-Fraser River System will have you experiencing world-class whitewater and challenging Class IV rapids. The Chilko and Taseko Rivers offer roller-coaster rapids and remote wilderness. You can cover some 97 km (60 mi) of whitewater in four days.

Quesnel and Cariboo

Other notable whitewater trips take place on the Quesnel and Cariboo rivers. If you prefer a short, single-day trip, break the rapids of Big Canyon on the Quesnel River, taking time to enjoy the tranquil beauty while gliding past rolling farmlands.

A word or two on your excursion:

  • Reservations strongly recommended
  • The difficulty of the river rapids are rated from Class I - VI, with I being tame water and VI being extremely violent, unrunnable water
