Equally appealing are the brooks, meandering streams and scenic rivers that provide the angler with blue-ribbon trout fishing. The ChilcotinThe Chilcotin is a vast stretch of fly-fishing heaven. Sweeping west from the Fraser River and across the dry Chilcotin plateau to the Coast Mountains this landscape is as diverse as any imaginable. Desert-like sagebrush flats, grasslands, pine forests and jagged snow-covered peaks make stunning vistas. The landscape is studded with lakes and dissected by rivers and streams, many of which hold trout as wild as the setting. These spectacular settings, prolific insect hatches and abundant trout are woven together into a fly-fisher's joy. Anglers will be delighted by the mryiad fishing opportunities. Several of the rivers slicing through this country are known in angling circles for exceptional trout fishing. The clean lakes provide some of Canada's finest stillwater fishing. The CoastOur region of the mid-coast of British Columbia boasts awe-inspiring scenery. Cedar and fir rainforests blanket the valleys below, and the peaks fill the sky. Into this vista are some of the finest trout, salmon and steedhead rivers on the globe. Lake fishing is limited here, but the freshwater angler will have no shortage of waters: hundreds of kilometres of pristine rivers flow from the mountains to the ocean.
