Wildfire Update 2 – Park Info/Air Travel/Evacuee Info
Until further notice, for public safety, the parks and protected areas in the Chilcotin and Cariboo are closed and should not be accessed due to severe wildfire hazard. For more information of which parks are affected, visit BC Parks.
Note for reservation holders:
BC Parks’ Reservations in the Chilcotin and Cariboo region with arrival dates up to and including July 13 for parks listed on www.BCParks.ca, will be automatically cancelled and refunded through Discover Camping. As or when further closures are confirmed by authorities, additional refunds will be given as required.
Due to ongoing Forest Fires affecting British Columbia’s interior, Air Canada understands that you may want to make alternate travel arrangements. If you have a ticket with Air Canada for travel to/from/via affected areas, for travel between now and July 22, you may change your flight without paying a change fee. Please contact Air Canada Reservations (1-888-247-2262) for more details and assistance.
If you do not have a ticket and are seeking to fly from Kamloops, Kelowna, Penticton, Prince George and Williams Lake as a result of the state of emergency, Air Canada is providing an additional 25% discount from these communities to help facilitate travel to any destination in North America.
Customers can book on aircanada.com using the promotion code A3VRZAR1, or can call Air Canada Reservations (1-888-247-2262) for further assistance.
We’re monitoring this situation very closely and our thoughts are with everyone affected.
